Provisional Psychologist Asta Rowbottom is passionate about supporting clients of all ages and backgrounds, with a key interest in children and adolescents. Asta is known for her creative, empathetic, and non-judgemental approach, working collaboratively with clients to tailor therapy to their individual needs. She emphasises building trust, understanding personal strengths, and empowering clients to overcome challenges and achieve their goals. Asta has experience supporting clients with anxiety, depression, emotional dysregulation, interpersonal and relationship difficulties, and stress. Asta’s work is client-centred, and she draws on elements of evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Asta is a Member of the Australian Association of Psychologists Incorporated (AAPi). In her free time, Asta enjoys reading, exercising and exploring new places. As a Provisional Psychologist, Asta has ongoing supervision with senior psychologist, Dr Caroline Schwerkolt - two brains are better than one! When not working one-on-one with clients, Asta is engaged in therapy planning, research and supervision, so you can expect high-quality tailored care. A Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) is not required to see Asta, and the low "out of pocket" fee means sessions are affordable and not limited by Medicare constraints (such as maximum number of sessions, or reasons for seeking therapy). |
